FAQ's about Internet Service
• What are the minimum computer requirements?
Dial up: Windows 98 or newer and 56k phone fax modem.
High Speed: Windows 98 or newer, 200 MHz PC with 32Mb of RAM, Ethernet card.

• How much is it to get the internet?

• How long does it take to get connected?
After payment has been made, Dial-Up Internet takes approximately 2 business days, while High Speed Internet takes approximately 5 – 7 business days.

How many hours can I be on the internet?
High Speed Internet offers unlimited use. Dial-Up Internet offers 50 hours per month. Additional hours cost $0.75 per hour. Please note that all “Unlimited Dial-Up” Internet Service in Manitoba is unlimited use for a single computer only, to a maximum of 750 hours in one month. Overages in Manitoba cost $2.50 per hour.

• What if I already have internet?
You can simply disconnect with your current provider and connect with us!

• How will the internet affect my telephone service?
High Speed Internet will not interfere with your phone line and calls can be made and received while online. Dial-Up Internet will cause your line to be busy while online and calls cannot be made or received. Some special features are available for Dial-Up Internet users – call us toll free for full details.

• What is the difference between Dial-Up and High Speed Internet Service?
High Speed Internet is faster than Dial-Up Internet, and it can be used at the same time as the phone line. It should be noted that in some rural areas, there is a limited availability of High Speed Internet. Dial-Up Internet is available in most areas.

• What is the downloading speed and bandwidth?
High Speed Internet downloads at a speed of 1.5Mbps, and comes with 70GB of bandwidth. Dial-Up Internet download speeds depend on the speed of your phone/fax modem and the quality of your phone line.

• Do I get technical support?
Yes! Phone Factory Reconnect has toll free technical support available for all Internet Service clients.


• Can I have my monthly invoice emailed to me?
Yes! Go Green! Please contact our Head Office by phoning us toll free at 1-877-336-2274 or by emailing us at info@phonefactory.ca to notify us that you would like to begin receiving paperless billing.

• Can you tell me more about the modems?
If you are connecting High Speed Internet you will need to purchase a modem from Phone Factory Reconnect. All modems come with a 6 month conditional warranty. Please note that if you wish to use a modem from another High Speed Internet provider we cannot guarantee that the modem will work. Phone Factory Reconnect will pay the cost of shipping the modem to you.
